Welcome to the Beau Ideal Blog. Here I will share tips of the trade, review products, keep you up to date with the current trends and there will also be special offers posted from time to time.
The beauty industry is huge and it can sometimes feel overwhelming with all the advice and beauty products out there. My aim is to simplify it - filter the faddy trends from the good ones and help you find the right information that will work for you. I don't believe beauty should cost a fortune and I also belive that natural beauty is the best - be you, be individual and be happy.
About Me
I've been a beauty therapist since 2008 and opened Beau Ideal in 2010. I was working in offices before I trained but wanted a "skilled" job that would be useful if I moved abroad. I had worked in New Zealand and Australia for 18 months and was planning to go back ASAP; at the time they wanted beauty therapists or plumbers so, after much consideration, I enrolled on a beauty course. I still think I could've made a good plumber though...
It was while I was at my evening college classes in Northamptonshire I took a last minute holiday and met a guy. Fast forward 12 years - we got married, got a dog, I started up my salon, we got another dog, had a baby, moved to Hampshire and now I'm starting up my salon again. As John Lennon said "Life is what happens when you are making other plans".
New Zealand is still on the list of things to do, just slightly further down these days.
Beau Ideal Open Day April 2010
I really love my job. I love meeting new people and delivering quality services. Seeing clients come in stressed but then leaving feeling totally relaxed really does make my day, and, because it's my own salon, there's no service that I don't like doing. Now that I'm based from my home (for the time being - the dream is to have a salon premises) it feels even more chilled - I make sure there's no rush at all and a cup of tea is always on offer.
I'm not into the hard sell - I don't like it when people do it to me so I will never do it to you. Plus I can't stand those wiggly girls on Instagram selling diet shakes or make up (and their soul), filtered so they are unrecognisable and making us normal people feel rubbish. This blog will be an extention of me - honest and unfiltered. If you are looking for help and information on the subjects I will be writing about then hopefully it will be beneficial to you and if you want to purchase any of the things I talk about then you know how to contact me.
Feel free to add any comments to these blogs. Let me know what you think or if you want something specific talked about just post it below. Just a few rules going forward:
- I'm all for freedom of speech but please don't post any offensive content. Lets keep it light.
- Please don't post any SPAM or adverts. I'm not interested in paying for followers, I've not had PPI and I'm all set for penis enlargement products :)
- Any tips I give are all tried and tested by me. I have no medical qualifications so I cannot give medical advice.
That's pretty much it though! Thanks for reading - I hope you find the content to come interesting. I'm going to try my very best!
